ABOUT US

Woodridge Scout Group is a family based organisation within Scouts Australia, Our aim is to help youth around Woodridge to grow, work in teams and gain leadership skills to carry them into later life.  We commenced on 22 August 1955 and have been in continuous operation.  'The Purpose of the Scout Movement is to contribute to the education of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities'.

Scouting is separated into age-based Sections –Joey Scouts (5 - 7), Cub Scouts (8 - 10), Scouts (11-14), Venturer Scouts (15-17) and Rover Scouts (18-25).

Currently Woodridge has a three very active sections -  Joeys, Cubs and Scouts.  We are happy to discuss joining up in all sections and are keen to get our Joey section up and running again.

Each Section takes more responsibility for their own activities as they progress guided by trained leaders.

(Advancement in Sections may vary up to six months)

All Sections share common threads of self-respect, confidence, leadership, teamwork, creativity, environmental awareness and community involvement, and there are plenty of events and activities in which everyone can get involved together.

Scouts Australia couldn’t provide such amazing experiences for young people without a huge group of dedicated and enthusiastic adult volunteers. If you’re aged 18 or over, why not contact your local Group and find out how you can rediscover adventure too? It doesn’t matter if you’ve never been a Scout… we’ll teach you everything you need to know!

“Try to leave this world a little better than you found it”
