If your child is joining and falls within the overlap period you can choose to allow them to experience the younger section for six month or he/she can join the more senior section straight away. The option you choose will depend on many things such as the child’s maturity, age, friends already on one section, etc.

You should also remember that each Section has a different uniform, so if your child joins one section for only six months you may need to buy a new shirt when they move up. At Woodridge we usually suggest that you purchase the next section’s uniform in this instance if your child is going to be in a section for only six months.

You can bring your child along to meetings of both sections during a trial period if you would like to see what both sections offer in terms of program etc.  We usually offer you two free trial nights before we start the process to get your child ready for their investiture.

There are additional sections for your child to progress to once they have completed scouts or they are older than 15 years.  Woodridge currently doesn't have active sections but we are happy to help you with these enquiries within the Logan district.  Please click on the images below for more information on these sections.
